History


The Jean Lumb Foundation is a Canadian, not-for-profit organization that was incorporated in 2006 and established as a charitable foundation (#83058 2128 RR0001) in 2008. Its purpose is to advance education by providing scholarships to high school students of Chinese heritage.

林黃彩珍基金會成立於2006年,並在2008年註冊為慈善基金會 (#83058 2128 RR0001)。林黃彩珍基 金會旨在推動教育,通過頒發獎學金,鼓勵成績優異的華裔高中學生繼續學習。

In 1996, a group of community representatives gathered to organize the Mid-Autumn Gala in Toronto to raise funds to establish scholarships that would be named in honour of Jean Lumb. The first Jean Lumb Awards were presented in 1998 at the first annual Jean Lumb Awards Dinner. Since that year, the Jean Lumb Awards have been presented to 100+ outstanding students who have achieved excellence in the following areas:

• DEFENCE OF THE ENVIRONMENT • DIGNITY OF LIFE • EXCELLENCE

在1996年,一群社區賢達主辦了一個名為『賀中秋』的籌欵晚宴,把籌得的善欵成立獎學金。並以林 黃彩珍命名,以表揚她在華人社區所作出的貢獻。1998年舉行了第一屆林黃彩珍獎的頒獎晚宴。直至 今天,已有91位華裔高中學生獲得頒發獎學金。林黃彩珍獎的獎項,包括:
